The Thickest Lad of the 70s
Oct. 12th, 2021 10:12 amTexas Renaissance Fair is here!
I've never been, but I hear it's a huge event. I'm going with the shop to it on Halloween, and for that I need a costume. I hate the cheapo costumes that you can find in Party City, so I decided to go to Ross and buy bedsheets to use as fabric. I had some bedsheets from when I was living alone, but since Alex and I have a King bed, I have no use for twin bedsheets. Rather than waste them, I've been using them for small projects here and there. Now they have purpose!
I am uh.
Woefully unprepared for Butterwick designs from the 70s.
First of all DAMN these sizes are SMALL (I'm a men's small-medium in shirts, pants ~34) and according to Butterwick I'm a size 14. Second of all DAMN this shit makes NO SENSE.
I haven't even cut my pieces yet. I'm too intimidated by all the instructions -- I facetimed my mom and we went over them, and I have an idea, but WOOOOO do I not know shit about this. I'm used to internet walkthrough tutorials on sewing, not this. So, uh, we will see if my tunic is wearable.
