So we canceled the reservation for the haunted house me and Alex were going to stay in -- Just two days ago was the massive 130+ car crash in Dallas-Forth Worth, and it's expected to sleet and freeze over in my little stretch of Texas. I trust myself driving in snow or ice, and I trust Alex, but I don't trust Texas drivers with no winter tires and no common sense. I'm a little disappointed but I'll live -- I'm excited for the prospects of snow! Snow in Texas!

We're going to spend Valentine's Day at the apartment, and so far we have just been watching King of the Hill, River Monsters, and Ghost Adventures (lol) as we go about doing things, but later we are going to have Frito Pie (!) which i have never made or eaten before but I hope it isn't a catastrophe. Also, the theme of our Vday is TIKI so we have some lei and tiki drinks and a floral tablecloth and uhhhh ... Some tiki heads to hang from the ceiling. We're still deciding on the movie to watch tonight.

So far everyone is freaking out about the cold. Oh wells, a little bit of snow or ice, idk what the deal is. Alex went to the grocery store to get some stew beef yesterday and apparently people had mass bought out a lot of things -- toilet paper, milk, ground beef, green bell peppers (?). We aren't going off the grid, we are just gonna get a few days of cold weather. I HOWEVER am excited and am going to be drunk on tiki drinks the whole storm <3

Ooh, tiki night! How cool. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted a tiki for the garden. That with tiki cocktails would be even better! Hope you guys have a good evening!

I'm sorry you missed out on your plans for the day but it sure sounds like you had fun anyway. I'm glad.

And I get the stores being out of meat and toilet paper, but green peppers? Maybe they're all making chili or something? That's just weird.

Keep warm!

Yeah, probably everyone decided to make chili! All that gas should warm Texas up at the very least! LOL!

Sorry that you had to change out your plans. Hopefully, you won't unexpectedly be off the grid. I remember how poorly deep South infrastructure is suited to super cold weather, snow, and ice. Nothing is built with it in mind, not even the roads. So shit can get nasty quick. I remember an ice storm back in the 90s where we were without power for about a week.

I'm guessing a lot of people are planning on making chili and such things as well, which would be why there was a run on ground beef and peppers. It is pretty much perfect chili weather. lol

Stay safe and warm! <3
