 ALEX PASSED HIS LICENSING EXAM!

He's now a big certified medical professional. I was laying in bed like a slug until 8, then pretended to sleep for another 15 minutes before I realized Alex was looking at his phone. He then showed me the email that he had passed and was certified. I yelled a lot and jumped on top of him like a manic capuchin and immediately went out to get his BIG SURPRISE GIFT.

I lied to him and said we were going to the alcohol section to get him booze. We took the long way, passing the videogame aisle and after we walked by the display case, I saw that the game I was going to buy him was in stock. We sharply U-turned in the aisle and I powerwalked to the electronics. He didn't know what was happening until I asked for Doom: Eternal for the PS4; he then proceeded to audibly gasp and grab onto my shoulders. Alex is very happy with the game, he spent a solid 3 hours playing it until I had to go to work, then while I was at work he played more of it. I threw a Lush bath bomb in the tub so now he's soaking and drinking some Hibiki whiskey that he has been so excited to try.

I'm so relieved and happy for him. I may or may not have cried EXTREMELY MANLY tears for 2 seconds when I jumped on him this morning.

In other news I'm so mentally beaten by Microbiology / Pathology that when I saw a fly, I thought of all the zoonotic and vector-transmitted illnesses it may carry. Could it be the common shigella dysenteriae? Or the eccentric vibrio cholerae? Maybe even salmonella typhi! Who knows!

Yey, congratulations. Why do those exams have such a high fail rate? Sounds like either something is not quite right in the curriculum or the assessment/exam itself is a bit off. Something is not quite aligned. Anyway,....YEY!!!! Sounds like things can now move forward for you both.
