 SORRY. I'M HERE. I'M ALIVE. I'M TIRED. I'M NOT COVID POSITIVE.

My part of Texas is becoming NYC 2.0 in terms of Covid so I'm uh. Busy. Very busy. Our ICUs are overrun and I'm WORRIED...And school started yesterday. I promise to do a proper update soon but I've been so exhausted I just sleep when I get home or play Planet Zoo for 20 minutes then fall asleep on my face.

Thank youuuuu <3 Thankfully my boyfriend works in pediatrics so he's not dealing with Covid patients, and luckily when I receive the dead they've been dead at least two days, enough for the virus to lose it's efficiency. We also always wear masks and are vigilant about hand washing. ... But the living people I deal with are the problem. Lots of people angry they must wear a mask.

Yes, I have lots of family around Austin and I keep an eye on what’s going on in that part of the country. Although we disagree on a great many issues, at least they are pro lockdown and mask-wearing. And that’s probably why we haven’t lost anyone yet. (My niece, who is a carer, did catch it from her charge, but she was able to recover without hospitalization—as did they, thankfully.)

We’ve been safe. Although England is “opening up” we’ve been more or less staying in our own personal lockdown, with the exception of outdoor, private garden meetings with a limited number of similarly responsible friends and tasks that our selling/buying of home require us to poke our head into the world for. (And then we mask up and take other precautions.)

Austin is starting to get a lot of cases, I've heard. If you had not guessed already, I'm in Houston which is the Texas capital of Covid atm :( There's a lot of anti-lockdown, anti-mask people here but it's a relief to know that there are some people out there who are cool with it. I'm not a ~true Texan~ so I will never understand the Texas mindset, but many here seem very bullheaded about this whole thing.

I'm happy you guys are handling it well, and I hope Granny Italia is doing well too! Hopefully England doesn't rush into opening back up like the rest of the states.

Naw, England has gone mostly whole hog unfortunately. Pubs, restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, hotels, cinemas... many things are allowed to be open now with “safety precautions” in place. I think it’s totally mad; we’re not planning to go to restaurants or galleries until at least next year O_O (Although I suspect some people would think I’m mad for letting my kiddo go back to nursery, so.)

Mask wearing varies. I’ve found that Londoners tend to mask up with greater frequency than people (I’ve seen) living in villages or towns but there also isn’t that outrage of “but my freeeeeedoooom!” that America has about it.
